14 FEB | The Beauty Cluster launches the V barometer of the sector

Barcelona, 14 February 2022. The Beauty Cluster, in collaboration with Nueva Investigación, is once again promoting the Barometer of the cosmetics, perfumery and personal care industry in Spain. A study to provide a snapshot of the current state of the beauty sector in its different areas: activity, turnover, number of employees, investment, internationalisation, inflation, trends, consumer habits and future prospects.

In the last edition, 112 companies were surveyed, 57.7% from Catalonia, 26% from the rest of Spain and 16.3% from abroad. Each year more companies participate in the study, making the results more representative of the state and perspective of the sector.

COVID was the protagonist of the IV Barometer, as it caused a drop in turnover of 29% of the companies surveyed, which could not be compensated by the sudden growth of online sales. However, what happened in 2021, how have companies evolved, where do they plan to focus their efforts in 2022, are they going to invest in R&D or are they going to focus on internationalisation? These and other questions will be addressed in this 5th edition of the Barometer.

Participation in the Barometer is open to all companies in the sector, in any area of the value chain. The data obtained will be analysed in a completely anonymous and aggregated way and will be shared with all the participants once the study has been carried out, which will be presented during the Ordinary and Extraordinary General Assembly of the Beauty Cluster on 12 May 2022 in Barcelona.
