21 FEB | Call for entries open for the II Digital Beauty Awards

  • The DBAs annually award the best digitalisation and online sales initiatives in cosmetics, perfumery and personal care.
  • Companies and professionals can enter any of the 12 award categories until 30 May 2021.
  • This year, the awards also feature the first Digital Beauty Summit (DBS), a congress that will bring together the industry’s leading experts.
  • The DBAs are promoted by the Beauty Cluster, Spain’s largest cosmetics, perfumery and personal care cluster. It comprises more than 240 companies.

Barcelona, 21 February 2022. Companies and professionals in the cosmetics, perfumery and personal care sector can now apply for the second edition of the Digital Beauty Awards. Promoted by Beauty Cluster, the largest Spanish cosmetics, perfumery and personal care cluster, the DBAs reward the best companies, professionals and initiatives in digitalisation and e-commerce in the Spanish beauty sector. In the 2022 edition, the awards will be complemented with the celebration of the first Digital Beauty Summit, a congress in which the main national experts in digital transformation and online sales in cosmetics, perfumery and personal care will participate.

The 2021 edition of the Digital Beauty Awards (DBA) had 240 nominations of which thirty were awarded at a luxurious gala that took place on 23 September at La Casa Milà in Barcelona (La Pedrera). The Gala was attended by a hundred guests and could be followed nationally and internationally by streaming. Raül Blanco, Secretary General for Industry and SMEs of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, opened the ceremony. Highlights included the double award winner Freshly Cosmetics as best digital brand and best Ecommerce in the sector, Irma Ugarte (Sephora – LVMH) as best digital manager, Cantabria Labs for the best digital marketing campaign, Bella Aurora Labs for the best launch of a new Ecommerce, Airperfume Timeless as best digital startup,  Ai.Lice (Puig) for best digital innovation, Dermofarm for best digital transformation project of a company in the sector and, finally, Gema Herrerías for best professional communicator and Marta Masi for best influencer.

In the 2022 edition, companies and professionals will be able to apply, completely free of charge, in 12 categories, including two new ones focused on retail and sustainability. The DBA 2022 categories are:

  2. Best digital manager in the industry
  3. Best digital marketing campaign
  4. Best online sales platform
  5. Best new online retail platform
  6. Best digital transformation in retail beauty
  7. Best digital transformation project
  8. Best digital innovation
  9. Best sustainability innovation
  10. Best digital startup
  11. Best social media influencer
  12. Best professional communicator

According to Ivan Borrego, director of the DBA and Beauty Cluster: ‘We were pioneers in 2021 with the creation of the Digital Beauty Awards, which give visibility to the best initiatives and inspire the sector to transform itself digitally. In 2022 we hope to get the whole sector involved and the awards and the congress will be a great party to discover, learn, share and reward digital innovation in the Spanish beauty industry‘.

The awards have a jury of experts in digitalisation, e-commerce and marketing and communication in the beauty sector. Experts in digitalisation such as José Carlos Cortizo (Product Hackers), from the beauty sector such as Josep Alboquers (Julia Perfumeria Family Office) or Gabriel Federici (Mintel) and from the media such as Silvia Martí (La Vanguardia) and Jaime de Haro (IP Mark) are making their debut as jurors in this 2021 edition.
