“The Spanish cosmetics industry will participate for the first time in Thailand in a grouped way”
June 3rd, 2018. The Beauty Cluster Barcelona (BCB) organizes the Spanish pavilion at the international fair InCosmetics Asia, which will take place in Bangkok from October 30th to November 1st, 2018. InCosmetics Asia is the main fair for ingredients and creation of cosmetic products from Asia-Pacific. The event brings together cosmetic manufacturers, distributors and service companies in the region. They visit the fair every year about 9000 unique visitors, of whom 65% come from Asia Pacific – mainly from Thailand, Korea and Malaysia.
The cluster will participate in the fair with a dozen Spanish exhibitors. Currently, companies like AD Particles, Bicosome, Biogründl-SpecialChemicals, BionosBiotech, Color Clay, EG Active Cosmetics and VytrusBiotech have confirmed their participation. The exhibitors will have the possibility of contracting low-cost spaces in preferential conditions with all the centralized management by the Beauty Cluster Barcelona and a support program on-site during the fair. Interested companies have until the end of July to reserve their space.
In addition, the BCB will promote the visit of local industry professionals through its collaboration agreement with the “Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences” which is part of the international association of which the cluster is a founding partner (Cosmetic Clusters International Network).
Thailand and the Asia-Pacific region represent a great opportunity for Spanish industry. The cosmetic market in Thailand represents a total of 4000 million dollars with an average growth in the last 5 years of 7% (Euromonitor, 2017). Highlights imports of essential oils, perfumes and toiletries amounting to almost 1800 million dollars in a country with 65 million consumers.
