With a large young population and a growing middle class, India offers a huge market for European SMEs to explore. The Indian cosmetics market is worth € 5.49 billion and is expected to grow at a rate of 18-25% annually, tripling in size and reaching € 17 billion by 2025.
With an organized retail landscape (e-commerce), availability of supply chain, skilled workforce, large and growing national distribution channels and presence of raw materials, India is and will continue to be a leader in the cosmetics industry. Given the size of the market, demographics, and the landscape of luxury and cosmetic products, intellectual property plays a vital role in protecting brands and associated products.
The session is organized by Global Cosmetics Cluster-Europe and the India IP SME Helpdesk. It is primarily designed for European SMEs (interested in) doing business with / in India. The overall objective is to build capacity and ensure that SMEs can take advantage of business opportunities in the Indian market while protecting their brand and innovation and enforcing their rights in the event of counterfeiting.
