II Olfaction Congress becomes a digital event

The organisation comittee relaunches the II Barcelona Olfaction Week as a pure online event due to the coronavirus current situation in the world.

  • The Barcelona Olfaction Congress (BOC) is one of the key activities in the framework of the Barcelona Olfaction Week (BOW).
  • The Congress is meant to interconnect, train and, promote olfactory science innovation for professionals within the fragrance, cosmetics and perfumery industry.
  • Originally scheduled for May, moves to the 2nd of July and turns into digital to promote the international participation
  • The program includes international speakers with proven expertise and knowledge about olfaction, perfume and science
  • The BOC is organised by the Beauty Cluster Barcelona with the support of Eurofragance, Iberchem, Lluch Essence, Cosmo Fragrances, Quadpack Group and Rafesa.

Barcelona, 20th May 2020. The II Barcelona Olfaction Congress moves to 2nd July as a digital event to gather the latest knowledge and research in olfactory science and the world of perfumes, fragrances and essences. Around 500 worldwide professionals are expected to connect in this second edition.

Specially indicated for professionals working all long the value chain of the perfumery and cosmetics industry, this virtual initiative counts on international speakers from companies such as Google Brain Team, to researches from innovative companies and tech-transfer centers. Includes a complete scientific and knowledge programme with topics like Artificial Intelligence applied to scent, global trends, sustainability, green chemistry, encapsulation technology, body odor management, last industry innovations and researches from tech-transfer centres.

The BOC is part of the Barcelona Olfaction Week (BOW, 29th June to 5th July), The BOW aims to project Barcelona as an international reference for the sense of smell and its interrelation with areas such as gastronomy or art. Perfume, olfactory science and culture will coexist in different online activities scheduled during that week like the International Perfumery Contest ‘Mouillette d’Argent’.

The II Barcelona Olfaction Congress is organised by the Beauty Cluster and counts with the specific support of other international associations like the International Perfume Foundation, AMAF or the Global Cosmetics Clusters and sponsors like Eurofragance, Iberchem, Lluch Essence, Cosmo Fragrances, Quadpack Group and Rafesa.
